Asparagus Densiflorus Mazeppa (Foxtail Fern)
Asparagus Densiflorus Mazeppa (Foxtail Fern)
Who am I?
Hello, my name is Asparagus Densiflorus, but better known as the Asparagus Mazeppa! My family consists of several hundred species; we are not all suitable as a houseplant, I am! My leaf is very small and soft and I have a very airy appearance!
Where do I come from?
My origins lie in South America, Central Africa and Southeast Asia. I now also feel very much at home in living rooms in Europe, so I like to be inside!
How big will I get?
I am a fast-growing species and can therefore reach a reasonable height of up to 2 meters.
How much do I want to drink?
My soil should always be slightly moist, without a layer of water at the bottom of my pot. When I don't get enough water, I lose my fresh green color and droop. Make sure that this does not happen and otherwise please water quickly.
Where do I want to stand and what temperatures do I like?
In my natural habitat I grow on the bottom under other large trees. For this reason I don't like bright sunlight, so don't put me too close to the window and certainly not on the south! I can tolerate fairly cool temperatures, but I don't like to get colder than 10 degrees.
